Devlog 8: The final stretch!


Devlog 8: The final Production week!

In this last week we have worked really hard on the game, let's go through what has been updated!

1. Play area update:

Our level's play area has been completely updated, making the game feel fresh, cool-looking and very much in theme!

1.2. The tower:

We completely upgraded our tower from a plain and boring yellow-ish tower into a way cooler and more defined, sci-fi building!

1.3. The scoreboard:

Alongside the new tower, we also implemented a floating scoreboard. It shows how well you're performing compared to your friends. It also displays the time left before you and your team successfully ward off the enemy drones. So, stay on your toes and keep shooting drones until that timer hits 0! Or else...


1.4. The health-bar:

We also added a sci-fi tube with liquid inside. Liquid u ask? Yes! Better keep it as full as possible because that liquid is what keeps everything up & running. If it's empty it is over for you and your team...

 


2. Turret update:

In the last devlog, we updated you on how we added power-ups to our game. Well, now they're fully locked, loaded, and ready to blast away! Behold our split bullet and explosive bullet

Our split bullet is best used to take out multiple widely spread-apart drones!

While our explosive bullet is better for clusters of drones together. Get those combo kills people!

But do be careful because overshooting could cause your turret to overheat! To prevent this, keep an eye on the bar next to the turret. Once it fills up, your turret will catch fire, and you'll have to extinguish it ASAP to keep competing with your friends!


3. Updated effects:

When you run over the pickups in the game you now get a clearly visible pickup effect:

Our drones now also explode when they get hit:


4. Updated drones:

Our drones have now been completely finished and textured!
